Commercial Access-Control Door Will Not Unlock: What Facilities Teams Should Do

A commercial access-control door that does not unlock can quickly become a security and operational problem. Sometimes the card reader works and accepts the credential, but the door still remains locked. In such situations, the problem may be with the power supply, wiring, access controller, locking hardware, door alignment, or system configuration.

Instead of replacing components immediately, facilities teams should first identify where the access process is failing. A few basic checks can often help narrow down the problem and make professional troubleshooting much faster.

An access-control door depends on several components working together. If even one component fails, authorized users may be unable to enter.

If the door is still not releasing, call 614-500-8990 and we will get a technician to you.
